Ice Detection for Seismic Support vessels

Seismic Support vessels, Chase vessels, Guard vessels ….
You would have three, four or more Support vessels around your Seismic vessel.

The most important Ice Detection is done on board these Support vessels,
steaming at least 1 hour ahead of you.
It’s not much a Seismic vessel could do when it detects a Growler ahead in the line.
The Support vessel 1 hour ahaed of you would give you some alternatives:
Move the Growler out of the line you are doing right now, or
alter your course, switching to another line, or just passing it and return to the line.

Seismic Support vessels are typically chartered for a specific Seismic project.
We have seen quite a range of Support vessels used in Seismic projects up north

Some of these Support vessels have had ice detection radar when chartered.
So, the Seismic Operator retrofits Ice Detection systems during the mobilization
of the chartered vessels for their Arctic Seismic project.

6' Ice Detection radar.
We are introducing a 6’ Surface Detection radar, optimized for Ice Detection.

Winterization.
Our transceiver is winterized to perform at extremely cold temperatures.
The cables are safely connected to the up-mast transceiver unit,
designed to perform down to extremely cold temperatures.

Boxed radar …. easy to install, easy to de-rig.

RADAR TECHNOLOGY’s new radars are designed to be easy to install, and easy to de-mount after an Arctic project. The up-mast weight is less than most of the radars available today, making them easier to mount in the radar mast or foundation.
A modular design makes it easier for technical service also in harsh weather.
