SWERUS-C3 2014: Arctic Ocean expedition with I/B Oden

The Swedish Icebreaker Oden departed Tromsø, Norway, Sunday 6 July,
for a three months Research trip in the Arctic. She should cruise through the Ice north of Russian Arctic, north of the New Siberian Islands, all the way to Barrow, Alaska, where she is expected late August.

On her return Icebreaker Oden would be cruising further north, over
the Lomonosov Ridge, (an unusual underwater ridge of continental crust
in the Arctic Ocean), back to Tromsø where she is expected early October.

The SWERUS-C3 two-leg expedition 2014 will investigate the outer East Siberian Shelf and its adjacent slope and ridges. The expedition carries a scientific crew of about
40 persons including Russian/European/US-collaborators.
